Dark chocolate may keep heart healthy
Planning dark chocolate into your daily diet may help prevent heart disease, According to a study by a team of Swiss researchers. Swiss researchers say the antioxidants in dark chocolate may prevent arterial plaque, making less likely to travel and cause stroke or heart attack. In addition, procyanidins can trigger the production of nitric oxide, which helps keep arteries flexible and increases blood flow to the heart.
The research team reached this conclusion after testing a group of 20 volunteers who were smokers with no health problems. The subjects were instructed not to eat foods rich in antioxidants, such as apples, onions and cabbage, and who received 40 grams of different types of chocolate.
Two hours after eating chocolate, eco-graph shows that dark chocolate with at least 74% cocoa, significantly improve blood circulation. In addition, other trials have shown that the risk of encountering accidents and blockages in the blood was reduced by half the initial risk. However, not white chocolate does not achieve the same effect. The researchers who conducted the study say that dark chocolate contains the most antioxidants of a gram than any other product known for its high antioxidant content as red wine, green tea or blueberries.
Cocoa is rich in flavonoid antioxidants called flavonoids, which include procyanidins, epicatechin, and catechin, explains Harold Schmitz, PhD. Studies have shown that people with high levels of flavonoids have lower risk of heart disease, cancer, lung cancer prostate cancer, asthma and diabetes type 2. Studies show that people who consume a diet rich in cocoa powder and dark chocolate was more low level of oxidation of bad LDL cholesterol, high levels of blood antioxidants and higher levels of HDL or "good cholesterol.
Chocolate is a food that has really changed the antioxidant components in it. And eat some "images per day reduced the risk of hardening arteries or locking. But we must not ignore that dark chocolate also contains fat and sugar in large quantities to gain weight if they are consumed in excess.
The best thing to do is settle its share of the chocolate to your actual weight and activity level, age and metabolism. If you physically active throughout the day can probably eat a reasonable amount of dark chocolate without fear never gain weight.
