Silk shawls, scarves and accessories – Part of the sixth part, six-color guide natural dyes
Did you know that the leaves, stems, bark, roots, seeds and fruits from your garden can be used to shine, non-toxic natural dyes for their favorite silk shawls, scarves, scarves, accessories and more? Mother Nature has given us so many wonderful resources to create, play and have fun with! Use them!
Silk is The most luxurious of all fabrics, is also the sexiest and most seductive. Believe it or not, the silk is the easiest way to dye the fabric. It is the most absorbent all textiles and smooth as silk fibers act as a prism to the light, reflecting a broad spectrum of oscillation spectacular colors of any color. This effect is what gives Shine glorious silk and gloss.
So take some old scarves and silk hand-dyed and woven by hand "> Shawls, scarves and accessories in need of revitalization and Let's Have Fun! And while we're on the topic of sexy and seductive, we dye our rich red silk sensual. Red is powerful, passionate and steam drive and confidence. The power of a single garment of red silk or a silk scarf should not be underestimated. Use a simple black dress, or cover on a screen. You'll thank me later, I promise you.
The first thing I do is to gather natural materials for dyeing. For a passionate, red garnet color, brasil, works very well. Is cheap to buy, easy to use and produces rich, vibrant colors. Next prepare the dye solution by cutting wood into small pieces the size of wood chips. Place wood chips in saucepan with twice the amount of water to wood chips. Leave the mixture of wood chips and water to saturate the night.
The day then prepare your silk shawls and scarves for the dye bath by immersion in fixative color. This will ensure that color is placed in the tissue. Mix 4 parts water cold for 1 part vinegar in a large saucepan, add your silk and simmer for one hour. Rinse with cold water and bring out the excess.
Meanwhile, the saturated solution of dye to a boil and simmer for one hour. Strain all the wood chips. Set wood chips for later and use them again (You can probably get 2 bath dyeing and not).
Now you're ready to add your soaked tissue fixative for the dye solution. Simmer slowly until you are satisfied with the color. For a deeper tone of red, and simmer for 20-30 minutes then soak the fabric in a dye solution overnight.
The next day, hang your shawls and scarves in bright silk to dry again. I admire your beautiful work, and rinse with cold water to remove excess dye solution. Hang to dry and voila!
